Horseback riding to the Sacred Valley

2 Days / 1 Night

Day 1

Leaving our ranch located in the rural community of Pichingoto, we will get to the salt mines known as Salineras, where you can see how the salt is collected by hand, and after the visit we will continue riding to the colonial village of Maras, where one of the first churches in Latin America was constructed, which goes by the name of San Francisco de Asís. After taking a moment to enjoy our fruit snack and a drink, we will go for a walk through the streets of the village of Maras where you can see the coats of arms from different Spanish colonial families carved into the stone doorways, and afterwards we will ride towards Moray, an important agricultural experimentation and development centre of which we can appreciate its grand architecture and some of the native products that are still being produced there.

After our visit to Moray, we will have our box lunch, and we will back down the mountains to our ranch where we will have spectacular views of the Vilcanota river in the middle of a wonderful sunset… an experience full of unforgettable landscapes.

Day 2

We ride along a path that follows a crystal clear stream that comes down from the Pumahuanca glacier. This area is always green, it’s an excellent ecosystem for birds, trees and native plants, which will make your horse ride an adventure of appreciation and contact with nature.
At the highest point we will visit a small archeological complex¸“Inca Racaqniyoc”, which was once the home of Inca settlers.

We will then return riding back along the same path.
